Poor starship, she was truly concerned about Datany’s wish of getting outside to rescue that android.
“Y”, she thought, “THERE’S A DOOR IN MY BELLY SIDE TO EXIT. NEVER BEEN OPENED…”
The starship was shining under the last flashes from the battlefield. Her light sensors had been awakened after long nights of deep dark space among faraway stars.
“…SEEING MY PILOT OUTSIDE ME… COULD BE A METAPHOR OF DEATH”.
Using the bubble arms was not so natural to the starship. First problem, it was many tens of years ago the last time she used her arms. Second, producing one of those glue bubbles was like chewing and chewing the glue till it was soft enough to blow into it. But chewing is not a thing that a starship is used to do. The very last problem was that she couldn’t really blow into the gum, because there’s no atmosphere out there and of course a soap or gum-glue bubble cannot persist, neither for a second. So inside the bubble there’s one more bubble and inside of this one more, one more, one more…until there’s space just for the last glue drop.
